What is a Facial?
A facial is a non-invasive cosmetic treatment performed on the face. Reviva Medical Spa facial treatments are custom designed at our state of the art spa, located in Neptune Beach. Our facials help to exfoliate in order to promote clear, hydrated and even textured skin.
Many of our clients choose to have their facials done at Reviva Medical Spa for the following reasons; relaxation and results. If you are looking to repair sun damaged, acne prone, unbalanced or dehydrated skin, you have come to the right place. All of these concerns and more can be addressed by one of our professional and licensed aestheticians. Let us work with you to create a customized skin care routine that will provide positive results to your skin and your confidence.
How is a Facial Performed?
A facial performed by a licensed aesthetician may be received every two to four weeks. The reason being, the skin needs at least 14 days to complete the cell turnover process in order to be in good condition for your next customized facial treatment. At Reviva Medical Spa we recommend that you not only follow a treatment protocol, but also a home care routine. A home care routine will maintain your results and give your skin a more balanced look until your next skin care treatment. Your home skin care regimen will typically consist of a morning and evening regimen.
Who is a candidate for a Facial?
A facial can be performed on all skin types, genders, races, and ages. With our advanced product lines and equipment, our aestheticians can give results to anyone who has skin care concerns or just wants to be pampered. Each individual client is unique and addressed as so; therefore, no two skin care treatments or routines are identical. We encourage anyone who is looking to maintain healthy skin to start on a skin care regimen to aid in the halting of skin damage which will appear over time. What can I expect on the day of my Facial?
As a guest at Reviva Medical spa, the leading medical spa in Jacksonville, our goal is to provide medical grade treatments without sacrificing the indulgence. That is why when you enter our spa you will be welcomed by calming fragrances, dim lighting, and relaxing music. Before your facial you will be changed into a robe and escorted to our Relaxation Lounge, where you may sip on some tea or read about some of our other relaxing and result driven treatments. Our professional aesthetician(s) will greet you and bring you back to your skin care room where you will be asked some general questions about your skin and what your main concerns are. Our aesthetician will then analyze your skin and recommend the best treatment protocol for your individual needs. You will then enter into a world of pampering and skin rejuvenation. Here you will experience a 30-minute, 60-minute, or 90-minute service including a cleansing, exfoliation, masking, shoulder and arm massage, and much more. Through cleansing, the skin is able to revive itself by eliminating the cellular debris that serve to clog and enlarge pores. Reestablishing the skins proper pH balance has shown to slow down the early signs of aging. This is accomplished with the use of a good toner and/or astringent; both integral parts to the facial. Exfoliation will serve to slough off dying skin cells and, in effect, polish the outer layer of the skin, increasing your cellular turnover rate. Often times, extractions are necessary to remove impurities and blemishes that exfoliation is not fully able to address.
Masks and serums draw out impurities and/or deliver nutrients to the deeper layers of your skin, while hydrating the outer layers. Gentle facial massages address the lines that have developed from repeated facial expressions (frowning, pursed lips, squinting, etc.). Massages also serve to increase local blood flow, bringing more oxygen and anti-oxidants to the face, allowing for better lymphatic drainage. Moisturizing the skin aims to form a protective barrier that allows for maintenance of hydration while keeping harmful elements from entering the skin through pores. Finally, the application of sunscreen is done to prevent the damaging effects of UV-A (aging) and UV-B (burning) rays. All of the above steps vary from service to service and may be altered to best suit your skin care needs. After your facial you will feel relaxed and your skin will feel smooth and renewed; leaving your skin brighter, tighter, and glowing.
What can I expect after my Facial?
Glowing Skin! However, it is important to understand that achieving and maintaining "Perfect Skin" is a process. As we previously stated, the skin needs 14 days to complete cell turnover in order for you to receive optimal results from your next facial. In the meantime, we recommend that you not only follow a treatment protocol, but also a home care routine. A home care routine will maintain your results and give your skin a more balanced look until your next treatment. Your home routine will typically consist of a morning and evening regimen in order to maintain "Perfect Skin."
