Radiesse™ Injectables

Radiesse™ (formerly known as Radiance®) is derived from calcium hydroxiapatite (CaHA) crystals, a primary component of bone and teeth. Radiesse™ is peculiar in that when injected into tissues, it will take on the shape and consistency of the surrounding tissue. For example, when injected into soft tissue, it will fill the tissue as a soft agent, and when injected onto bone, will become stiff and hard like bone.

Radiesse™ adds volume to just about any part of the face and works in a very peculiar manner. When injected into tissues, it actually stimulates collagen to grow causing new skin components to not only be thicker, but younger and healthier. The product appears as a white substance, but when placed under the skin to correct a fold, the results are immediate and very long lasting.Generally speaking, Radiesse™ will last anywhere from 10-14 months.

Radiesse™ has very few adverse reactions, which make it an excellent filling agent giving long-term results. Very rare side effects include small palpable beads under the skin following injections. If these do occur, they will resolve.

Radiesse™ FAQs

What can I expect on the day of my injection?

When you come in for your injection, you will be seen only by a Double Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon. Photographs will be taken and you will visit with Dr. Garcia so that you may have ample time to discuss with him your areas of concern and what you expect from your injectable treatment.
Dr. Garcia will have you make several facial animations to properly decipher where the major folds are located.
A topical anesthetic is placed on the skin to minimize any discomfort that you would have from the injections.  Oftentimes, Dr. Garcia will perform a painless dental block to alleviate any discomfort that you may have from the injection process.

When Can I begin to see the Results?

You can expect to see results immediately after your injection. You can keep the swelling down to a minimum if you keep the area iced with cold compresses. Avoid strenuous exercise for a minimum of 24 hours to avoid additional bruising and swelling.
Friends and family may comment that you have done something different with your hair or that you are wearing different makeup.
