Spray Tanning

SunFX Spray Tanning is a revolutionary spray tanning system that uses a low-pressure spray to deliver a tanning solution. The solution is sprayed evenly over the body and may be applied to the face. Because our trained skin care consultants are manually applying the solution through the low-pressure spray they are able to customize and contour your tan to leave you feeling your best. The solutions used have no preservatives, oils, or perfumes; making the application an overall experience that is quick and odor free. The added advantage of the SunFX spray tanning treatment is that you are not exposed to the harmful UVA/UVB rays that may cause skin damage and even worse, skin cancer. There are certain guidelines that we recommend that you adhere to before and after your treatment.

Before Tanning:

Before tanning exfoliate your entire body prior to your arrival at Reviva Medical Spa. This is easily accomplished by rubbing a damp soapy face towel or loofa firmly over your skin while showering. Pay close attention to rough and dry skin areas like knees, elbows, ankles, and the tops of your feet. You may also want to shave before your spray tan. DO NOT apply moisturizer, make-up, or any additional products to your skin before your spray tan, as doing this will reduce the final result of your spray tan. You will want to wear older underwear, bikini bottoms, or shorts for men; as these articles will get the spray tanning solutions on them. We can also provide disposable underwear for your spray tanning treatment as well.

After Tanning:

Once your spray tan is applied, you must allow it to dry completely. We will ensure that your application is dry before you leave, but as a precaution, do not wet your skin or shower for at least 5 hours after your tanning treatment. Showering the next morning is the best option. DO NOT shave the evening of your tan, as this may make the tan blotchy. We also recommend that you do not exercise or perspire excessively between the tanning and the showering phase. When showering some of the initial bronzer will wash off; however, your skin will continue to tan. You may also notice that some of the bronzer may rub off on your clothing, so wear loose fitting clothing after your spray tan. After you shower and to prolong the tan, apply moisturizer twice daily after showering. This reduces the rate at which your skin will exfoliate and will extend the life of your tan.

Important points to consider:

If you have sensitive skin you may want to request a "patch test" before the entire spray tanning solution is applied to your body for sensitivity purposes. As for clothing, we recommend that you wear dark loose fitting attire after your appointment. Any minor rub-off will easily wash out; however, some lighter fabrics and materials may stain. WE recommend that you apply sunscreen on a daily basis, as the SunFX solution does not provide your skin with UVA/UVB protection.
